Download the installer
Use the download button at the top of the page. To be sure the file is ours, compare its SHA-256 with the one on the home page or in the version history.
Get past SmartScreen
The beta is not signed yet, so Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info, then Run anyway.
Allow the administrator prompt
The installer asks once: it installs the app for all users and raises the Hearthstone log size limit in the game folder. The app turns the log on itself when it starts. Without the limit, long games get cut off.
Accept the terms
The installer shows the terms of use, including what is sent after each game. Click I Agree to continue.
Restart Hearthstone and play
If the game was running, restart it once. Play in windowed mode. The numbers appear in the tavern of your next Battlegrounds game.
Uninstall
Windows Settings → Apps → the app → Uninstall. It removes the app and its data folder, including games not sent yet. Hearthstone's log settings stay: they do no harm.
